rain day.
The further west I venture the more excited I become. New twists, turns, vistas and landmarks make the miles seemingly tick away. Maybe this western travel is a sign of things to come...
The decision to head out in the rain was much preferred to trainer time. Just couldn't do it. So a new route was planned and out I went. The first hour was the worst with a pelting rain coming at me nearly sideways. Following that was a deep overcast made bright by valleys with epic views. Moving into the third hour the skies turned even darker and brought a couple short downpours. The last hour was not the most enjoyable, as just being out made the day, but brought some incredible sights of thunderous high cloud punctured by sunlight. A this point 3 rainbows were sighted, only one of which made the final picture cut.
The downside of this rain ride? Being able to hear your drive train suffering through a symphony of squeaks and creaks over the blasting sound of music plugged into my ears.
