Fast forward backwards to last Monday. I invested a small bit of my time with the CORP folks and got creative with the forest in Blue Mound State park. In the far east segment of the park we worked on a trail entitled "Over Lode." This section was new to me and not having a whole lot of riding at Blue I was surprised this little ribbon of smooth 1 track even existed in this park of sidewall ripping granite and limestone. Excited about this new prospect I ventured back on Thursday to ride it. Bliss was found ripping this piece of the forest. Ride it to find out for yourself...just be aware that you'll get a serious workout.
Saturday, pavement, dirt 1 track and a limestone trail collided to form one fine long day of saddle time. The paved hills of Dane County gave me an early workout, which turned to the trails of Iowa County and the above mentioned "Over Lode" at Blue Mounds. After getting nearly my fill of that luscious trail (I could never get enough but if I didn't turn back I would have never made it home) I returned via Military ridge, the crushed limestone trail that seems to go straight forever...
Sunday morning was spend riding the roads on a road bike for a change. Babe and I looped some nice roads before heading up to Devil's Lake for her and a fellow workers going away party. Picnicking was done as was eating, drinking all topped off with a bit of hiking of the surrounding cliffs.
Lastly. The announcement has been made. Amelia and I are are relocating to Salt Lake City. The bottom left corner of the below photo will be her place of study, and the entire picture and beyond will be ours to explore.
