Three weeks in a new city. New segment of the country. New terrain. New people. New job. New air and of course new bike races.
Taking it back a few weeks to my first race here in Utah and also the first annual race at Snowbasin, titled Mt. Ogden 50K. Was I excited, yep. Wanted to try my climbing legs and also lungs against this lessor of an atmosphere.
Climbing and descending seemed to be the name of the game. While I descended like a small child for the majority of the 20+minute descent I surprised myself by actually pulling quite solidly on the climbs and making up that lost time on the climbs.
In the end I finished in 4th just a couple seconds off third and only a minute off 1st. Some race coverage can be found on on MTB race news.
You might have also noticed something unusual about the above pictures. Rather than the Adventure 212 kit that normally adorns my pale skin I'm now outfitted in KUHL blue race attire. What brought the change? Well simply said, after a quick discussion with Team 212 guru Chris it made sense for both us to part ways. I wanted a team base where I can ride and race with people close and he had no need for me to publicize Adventure 212 in Utah. The support the that Adventure 212 gave me was incredible, and won't be forgotten. Thanks for everything guys!
Moving on KUHL clothing is now my supporting sponsor. I'm stoked that you've asked us to the team, and going forward it looks to be a great fit. Look for more on the team in the future.
