Tis the season...for warm hands. I took our teams delivery of Barmitts this past week and at first glance I'm impressed with what I see and I'm excited for warmth. After examining them up and down and liking very much what I saw I immediately went for the bike and put 'em on. Simple design and easy to use, they went on in probably less than a minute. Just undo the zipper, slide up the bar, re zip and it's on. The derailleur housing/cable makes it way out the top of the zipper, while Campy and Sram use a slightly different mitt to allow for their different routing of cable. Before these arrived I was worried that the hand hole wouldn't allow for a good range of motion but that worry disappeared after they were mounted. I feel I'll be able to use a much thinner glove (emphasis on glove!) then my winter riding combo last year which was 1. thin wool glove, 2. heat pack, 3. Snowboard mitten. Updates abound once I get a couple rides in with these.
I thanked him here before but I want to say thanks again to Ward for his sponsorship for the season. There's a lot more than just the summer season we Wisco/Illinois folks have to deal with and its riding tools such as these that really make matters easier, and so much more enjoyable. Thanks Ward and Patti!
