My mind wandered on today's ride. I pinpointed it right around the intersection of interval boulevard and VO2 lane. Things happen while at a loss of oxygen. Not only did my thoughts wander but it also appeared that there was a lot going on outside today. In no particular order;
2 new jumps were added to a newly cut trail at Quarry, they kick, especially since they weren't there yesterday. I saw the same person running, as I went out and when I returned 2.5hrs later, strange thing was she was going the same way as on the way out. Gnats are out in full effect. My arm hair forest netted nearly all of them. I passed a short short jean wearing, crack showing gentleman, who had giant calves. Almost got taken out by a bike path warrior who was in the hammer lane just as I was trying to pass another runner. Apparently wearing a helmet backwards is "in." Saw a cat, chipmunk, squirrel and mole but wish I would have saw a cougar(I did later in the ride). Chatted with Jesse Bond who was wearing the MATTER worlds tee shirt I designed. Wondered a bunch of times if I'd ever get to ride a new Specialized Carbon 29er outfitted with Sram XX. Wished my chain would stop making all that noise, or wished I would have lubed it before I went out. Thought I nearly taco'd my wheel, but I didn't. At the same time thought I flatted, of which also was false. The Camelbak Racebak works pretty darn well. Yelled "what up?" to Dave Staab, I swear I see him every time I'm out. Didn't take any pictures...

Nice post Man! For sure about the weekend being so much more than the race. And I know exactly what you mean about the ninja, I think he totally does the stealth in on purpose, and his late game is amazing. I am always looking for him over my shoulder in the late laps.
giant calves hmmm.....
